St. Lucie Clerk resumes passport services by appointment

passports FORT PIERCE, FLA. (Jan. 26, 2021) – St. Lucie County residents planning to travel overseas in the coming months can once again apply for a passport at the Clerk’s office. Appointments are now required, and passports may take up to 12 weeks to be issued by the U.S. Department of State.

To expedite the application process, customers are asked to bring a completed, unsigned passport application to their appointment. Valid proof of citizenship, photo ID and a passport photo must be provided when applying. Copies of their photo IDs and citizenship documents can be taken at the application appointment.

“Processing passports is an essential service for our community, especially for those who need to travel for business or care for their family,” said Michelle R. Miller, St. Lucie County Clerk & Comptroller. “We’re happy to resume these services while ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers and Deputy Clerks.”

Applicants wishing to receive their passports sooner than 12 weeks can request expedited service for an extra fee to receive their passport within four to six weeks.

Anyone entering the Clerk’s office or St. Lucie West courthouse is required to wear a mask and have their temperature checked.
