General Information
Couples may apply for a marriage license online, or in-person at the Fort Pierce Main Office or St. Lucie West locations from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The license is valid in any Florida county for a period of 60 days. See Fees & Costs for a list of fees and accepted payments.
Please be advised that this appointment is a 30 minute Zoom Video Conference.
Once your online application is processed, instructions on how to submit a payment and schedule an appointment for the video conference will be emailed. Both spouses must be present on the video conference to sign and provide proof of pre-marital counseling, if applicable. The couple must also confirm receipt of the Family Law Handbook. The zoom video conference is NOT a wedding ceremony.
A federal or state ID showing your name and date of birth, such as a driver license or passport is required. You must provide your Social Security number as well. Birth certificates are not accepted.
Once issued, the license is valid in any Florida county for 60 days. After the ceremony, it must be signed by the officiant and returned to the Clerk’s office within 10 days by mail or delivered to the Recording Department. It will be recorded, and a certified copy will be emailed to the address provided on the application.

How Long Is the Marriage License Valid?
Marriage licenses are valid for 60 days. If you are not married within 60 days, you will have to obtain a new license.

Edna has more than 34 years of service with the Clerk's office. As Recording Manager, she oversees the recording of the county’s official records, issuing marriage licenses, conducting marriage ceremonies, and processing U.S. passport applications. Official records include mortgages, deeds, satisfactions, plats, certificates of title, lis pendens, judgments, death certificates, military discharges, and more. Edna previously worked in the Civil and Family Law section of the Brevard County Clerk's office for 2.5 years.
