St. Lucie Clerk and Comptroller presents check for $689,631.26 to taxpayers
FORT PIERCE, FLA. (Dec. 13, 2022) – St. Lucie Clerk and Comptroller Michelle R. Miller presented a check for $689,631.26 in recovered funds to St. Lucie County taxpayers at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
"This check represents a substantial increase over last year due to keen financial management and significant cost-cutting measures", said Clerk Miller. "I am so proud of my staff and the work they do every day to make sure that we have these funds for the betterment of all St. Lucie County residents."
The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller is directly elected by county citizens and responsible for safeguarding all public records and public funds. As St. Lucie County's Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Auditor, the Clerk provides a necessary check and balance on the county's budget, revenue, and spending.
