Media Resources

The Communications Department assists the media in obtaining timely, accurate information on public records and county finances in accordance with Florida’s public record laws.

Court Documents & Case Information

The Court Case Search provides the public with access to select court case documents more than three days old dating back to 2008. If documents are not available online or if they require redaction, the media may email the Communications Department for assistance. When requesting a complaint, please provide a case number, party name(s), defendant’s date of birth, and/or charges.

Accessing Court Case Documents filed in Indian River, Martin or Okeechobee counties

County Clerks do not have access to each other’s court records, regardless if they are in the same judicial circuit. To access documents filed in a specific county, please contact the Clerk in which the case was filed.

Audio Recordings & Case Transcripts

The 19th Judicial Circuit’s Court Administration oversees digital recording of all court proceedings. To request copies, please contact the Digital Court Reporting Department at 772-462-1879.

Cameras in the Courtrooms

To request the placement of a TV station’s video camera in the courtroom to record court proceedings, please contact the 19th Judicial Circuit’s Court Administration at 772-807-4370. Court Administration can also assist TV stations in determining a pool camera for high profile cases, if necessary.

Grand Juries

Information about grand jury proceedings and the identities of jurors in a grand jury is not public record. Unless an indictment is filed against a defendant, a case is not created and therefore is not public record.

Official Records

St. Lucie County's Official Records dating back to 1985 are available online. The documents include liens, plats, certificates of title, mortgages, lis pendens, marriage licenses, deeds, judgments, death certificates, military discharges, and more. If documents are not available online due to state law, the media may email the Communications Department for assistance.

County Financial Information

As the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Auditor, the Clerk is responsible for safeguarding all county tax dollars. Annual financial reports for each fiscal year, along with quarterly investment reports, are available to download on the County Financial Reports page.
